This study investigates the structural impact of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5: Gender Equality) by examining the success metrics of small-scale lending programs. While traditional financial evaluations rely heavily on institutional sustainability indicators—such as Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Return on Assets (ROA)—they frequently fail to capture shifts in social equity. Utilizing a mixed-methods research design, this paper analyzes data from 450 female micro-loan beneficiaries over a three-year observation window. The study establishes indicators across three primary gender equity dimensions: Economic Autonomy, Intra-Household Decision-Making Power, and Social Capital Accumulation. Empirical findings indicate that while access to small-scale loans significantly improves baseline household consumption smoothing and asset ownership, the conversion of credit into structural gender equity depends heavily on "bundled" nonfinancial interventions. The paper concludes that true alignment with the SDGs requires a paradigm shift from purely financial repayment metrics to qualitative, genderdisaggregated empowerment tracking indices.
