Read moreGlobal supply management has shifted from a basic purchasing role to a strategic field that oversees the movement of goods, services, information, and finances across countries. Although it is vital for organisations to stay competitive, the field faces growing complexity, political uncertainty, sustainability demands, and rapid digital change. This paper reviews both the theory and practice of global supply management, covering its main concepts, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and ways to improve supply chains. Drawing on established research and recent studies on digital change and sustainability, we bring together key ideas for sourcing, supplier selection, relationship management, and performance measurement. The study highlights important factors for success, such as building resilient supply chains, working closely with suppliers, planning based on demand, and leveraging technology to improve visibility. We also examine how new technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and predictive analytics are transforming global supply operations. The results show that organisations using integrated, digital, and sustainability-focused supply management achieve better results in cost, flexibility, and risk management. This paper contributes to the supply chain field by providing a clear overview of global supply management strategies and proposing a framework that connects sourcing, supplier management, and digital transformation. The findings are useful for supply chain professionals, procurement experts, and researchers seeking to improve global supply management amid major change.
