This study examines the critical intersection of econometrics and financial prudence as foundational pillars for achieving sustainable national development. In an era marked by heightened global economic volatility, resource scarcity, and fiscal deficits, developing and developed nations alike require rigorous, data driven frameworks to guide economic policy and public resource allocation. This paper utilizes an econometric approach to analyze how prudent financial management—characterized by optimal resource allocation, debt sustainability, transparent budgeting, and rigorous anti-corruption frameworks—impacts long term macro-economic stability and sustainable growth metrics. Using a structural vector autoregression (SVAR) methodology applied to longitudinal macroeconomic data spanning three decades, the study models the dynamic relationships between public expenditure efficiency, revenue mobilization, inflation targeting, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). The findings demonstrate that empirical econometric modeling, when strictly paired with disciplined fiscal execution, significantly mitigates the resource curse, reduces public debt vulnerabilities, and accelerates capital formation. Conversely, financial imprudence and policy formulation absent empirical validation lead to systemic structural deficits and stunted human capital indexes. The study concludes that sustainable national development is not merely an outcome of resource abundance, but a function of scientific forecasting and structural discipline.
